January 2014 Meeting

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 15 January 2014.

PLEASE NOTE - the times for our sewing sessions have changed.  On the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, the sewing sessions will be from 10 am to 5 pm.  For January, these will be Wednesday 8 January and Wednesday 22 January.

The day of our business meeting, sewing will be from 1 pm to 5 pm, with the meeting to follow at 7 pm.

A Brown Bag Challenge will begin in January.  Pick up a brown bag in January.  Return it to the meeting in February, with 3-4 pieces of fabric in it, fat quarters or more or less.  The brown bags will be exchanged at the February meeting.  Then you take someone else's brown bag home and create something for that person - a smaller item such as a table runner, wall hanging, place mat or ?  The finished item is due for our May meeting - not before and not after!

Sheila Munro is organizing a postcard exchange with two guilds, one in New Zealand and one in Hawaii.  The theme is "Where we live".

Wednesday 29 January, 10 am to 4 pm, Sewing kit, taught by Anne Mattie

December Meeting

Our December meeting will be on Wednesday 11 December.  Christmas dinner will be at 5 pm.  Heather Campbell is organizing who is bringing what, so please contact her if you wish to contribute.

The meeting will start at 7 pm and then there will be a gift exchange.  To participate, please bring a gift (quilting related) with a value of no more than $10.00. Santa will hand out the gifts - this is always a fun event.

During the afternoon, work will continue on our guild quilt.  Come and see how beautiful it is and help to work on it.

Sheila Munro is organizing a postcard exchange with TWO guilds - one in Hawaii and one in New Zealand.  More details will be available at the December meeting.

Register your UFOs with Shelley Tye - and then get busy finishing them!
